Hello, I am Remington Jackson
This is a brief story of how i beat cancer.
HI, i am the designer and co-founder of this website. At the age of 9, i was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma a bone cancer. We found it because my dad noticed a large lump in my left armpit, we made an appointment to get checked out with my pediatrician. At the doctors office he said that we needed to get up to primary children's medical hospital for x-rays and a ct scan. They found the lump was actually cancer and was the tip of a much larger tumor growing inside my chest cavity that was the size of a cantaloupe. The tumor had shifted all my vital organs up and out of the way so it could attach itself to my rib cage. That is when my memory gets spotty. The next thing i remember is when i went home on Christmas 2 months later. I spent most of those two months in ICU because of complications from treatment. I remember that i was too weak to even open a car door, twist a doorknob, or walk very far. after many rounds of chemotherapy (16 treatments), surgery to remove the tumor and four ribs, focused radiation as well as 12 blood transfusions i made it out. My body has been cancer free for 6 years now. I am now in the 12th grade in Salt Lake City, Utah. date 10/6/16
